Your privacy is important to me, and our communications are confidential and protected by law. Three exceptions to your confidence are: when a patient is a danger to himself or others; when a child is in danger; and if I’m subpoenaed to testify in a court of law.
Please understand that I cannot offer the same degree of confidentiality for email as I do for other forms of communication, so please limit emails to me to the subject of appointments.
Because email accounts require a third party to maintain, I cannot guarantee the confidentiality and privacy protection provided by the vendors involved. I try to protect my computers and email as best as possible but I cannot guarantee utmost security. As a result, lengthy emails containing confidential information are written at your own risk.
Clinical information will only be discussed in sessions. You may, however, find it helpful to use emails for appointment scheduling.
Thanks for understanding.
